Black Mist is an optical glass soft filter infused with fine black diffusing material. It suppresses highlight and shadow contrast, providing a soft image. Without requiring a retouch, you are able to create movie-like photographs with Black Mist.
To position this as a cinematic effect filter, we adopted the TRAJAN alphabet font that has commonly been used in movie titles, posters and television shows since 1990.
Softly bleeds lighting within night time photography, producing a cinematic atmosphere. The warmth of Black Mist filters is felt immensely within rain settings. Street lamps and large light sources may be greatly emphasized with the Black Mist No.1 and other soft filters, whereas No.05 provides an appropriate diffused effect.
Regardless of back lighting, the photo is not whitened, with highlight and shadow contrast limited to create a soft image.
Light is softened, producing a unique Black Mist mood.
Contrast is weak within portrait photos, making skin appear smooth as if a veil was layed over it.
Black Mist No.05 has a strong role in improving the atmosphere of landscape photography. The sunlight filtering through the tree foliage has been greatly enhanced.
Increasing the exposure has created a soft and transcendent light.
Given the weak contrast, taking shots around windows with natural light will produce a unique atmosphere.
The newly released Black Mist No.05 has halved the soft effect of our Black Mist No.1. In comparison to other soft filters, Black Mist No.1 doesn't whiten the image. However, it has a considerable light diffusion effect when shooting at night or in backlit scenearios. The No.05 is here to remedy this.
Black Mist No.05 and No.1 should be used seperately according to the scene. No.05 is recommended for night photography and during sunset when there is plenty of backlight, while No.1 is catered towards the early hours and when there is weak lighting. In regards to the lens' focal distance, the filter's soft effect is strong when used with telephoto lenses but weaker with wide angle lenses.
Black Mist No.05: This filter has a unique bleed effect on the city lights. Whether focusing on lights directly or creating circular light blurs, you can get an excellent diffused effect.
Black Mist No.1: The filter has a stronger bleed effect on the city lights. It will strengthen and expand light sources and may overexpose them in the center.
Black Mist No.05: Suppresses contrast, producing a soft, light mood. The blur in the background provides a pleasant, mellow impression.
Black Mist No.1: Suppresses contrast stronger, producing an even softer, lighter mood. The blur in the background also provides a pleasant, mellow impression. The soft effect laid on the subject is strengthed.
Black Mist No.05: Increases moderation of shadow and suppresses contrast.
Black Mist No.1: Provides a unique Black Mist airiness. No.1 is recommended when light is weak.
