We are proud to present our solution - the Kenko PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION magnetic attachment filter system. Not only does it free all photographers from the inconvenience of changing filters, but it will also greatly reduce the risk of filters accidentally dropping by screwing them onto the lens.

The system is very easy to use. All you need is an adapter and a filter. Attach the adapter to the lens. Once the adapter is attached, there is no need to remove it every time. Then, simply attach the filter to the adapter. You will not miss a moment.

What is Variable NDX

Kenko PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION VARIABLE NDX3-450+C-PL neutral density filter provides a convenient way to maintain exposure control by being able to vary the amount of light entering the camera from 1.5 to 9 stops. The filter provides several advantages such as being able to control the depth of field by using a wider aperture or to control motion blur by choosing just the right slow shutter speed. The Kenko PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION VARIABLE NDX3-450+C-PL also allows the user to control polarization by rotating the whole filter frame. This function is realized thanks to the revolutionary magnet attaching system - "INSTANT ACTION".

Note: Kenko PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION VARIABLE NDX3-450+C-PL is not a kit consisting of two filters. It is a variable ND filter with polarizing function.

How to attach

To attach the Kenko PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION VARIABLE NDX3-450+C-PL you will need an Adapter Ring and a filter of the same size as your lens.

Tip: No need to remove the Adapter Ring from the lens every time you change the filter.

1. Screw the Adapter Ring onto the lens. Make sure the size of the Adapter Ring fits the size of the lens.
2. Attach the Kenko PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION VARIABLE NDX3-450+C-PL magnetic filter onto the Adapter Ring.
3. Enjoy shooting!

How to use

1. Attaching special knobs (included in the package) to the filter ring on one or both sides will make density and polarizing adjustments more convenient.
2. Adjust the desired density by turning the outer ring.
3. Adjust the desired polarization effect by rotating the whole frame using special knobs included in the package.
4. Release the shutter.

Note: Due to the specific construction of the filter, the polarization effect changes when adjusting the density. Therefore, make sure to adjust the density first and the polarization afterwards.

Without changing the aperture, the PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION VARIABLE NDX3-450+C-PL filter provides the freedom to change the shutter speed according to the desired effect. For example, without adjusting the aperture, the same scene can be taken with a wide range of shutter speeds just by rotating the outer filter ring. The problem of diffraction can be eliminated by being able to work with a slow shutter speed.

Realizing wider apertures

When using PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION VARIABLE NDX3-450+C-PL filter with super fast lenses the shutter speed can be secured within an appropriate level for the sake of a wider aperture. Through this, a beautiful blurred background effect can be created.

Preventing overexposure

Even with a shutter speed of 1/8000 seconds, a large aperture of f/1.4 or f/1.2 can cause overexposure. With the PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION VARIABLE NDX3-450+C-PL filter, overexposure issues can be avoided.

Realizing cinematic looking video

For video-enabled cameras, use the PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION VARIABLE NDX3-450+C-PL filter as a means to easily adjust light control and shutter speed according to the frame rate setting to achieve that natural and smooth looking motion. The operation workflow can become more effective since there is no need to change different density filters according to the scene conditions. The filter can produce blurred background effects, simulate a night scene or create manual fade in/out effects.

Note: For best results we recommend using a tripod when photographing with slow shutter speeds.

A lens hood can be attached with the KENKO PRO1D+ INSTANT ACTION filter attached on the lens (when knob is detached).
