Description

Kenko SMART Clear PRO UV is a multi-purpose filter with UV absorbing ability and Anti-Stain Coating. An all-around filter, it can serve as a permanent lens protector.

UV Absorbing

Kenko SMART Clear PRO UV filter absorbs those ultraviolet rays that can make outdoor photographs often hazy and indistinct.

Anti-Stain Coating (ASC)

The Anti-Stain Coating (ASC) does not allow moisture to adhere to the surface of the filter. Water beads up and roll off easily instead of streaking. This means filter maintenance and cleaning to be easier and not needed so often.

Ultra Thin Frame

Its ultra thin frame makes it possible to use this filter even with wide angle lenses, without vignetting.

General care and handling of the photographic filter

  1. Use filter carefully and always keep it clean. When cleaning use cleaning tissue or cleaning cloth. But before that remove as much dust and dirt as possible from the lens with a blower or brush.
  2. Avoid unnecessary cleaning of your filter.
  3. Filter is made of glass. When it is broken glass fragments may injure.
  4. Do not disassemble filter by yourself.
  5. When the filter is not attached to the lens, store it away from sharp objects. They may damage the filter glass.
  6. Keep filter away from children.
  7. Keep filters in plastic hard-sided case or filter pouch.
  8. Keep filters dry and away from direct sun light.
  9. Avoid storage in high humidity environment. Moisture drops due to the high humidity or dew on the filter can burn the coating and create traces on the glass surface that can be hardly wiped off.

Kenko PRO1D+ INTANT ACTION system – filters made simple
As a landscape photographer, I sometimes find myself in need of different filters in order to achieve the shot that I am after. For example, I might need a clear filter such as UV filter for a bit of protection when I am shooting in dusty or wet environments to protect my lens. I might also need ND filters for shooting video or getting those long exposure shots during the daytime. Last but not least, I am a huge fan of C-PL filters, as they give me those punchy clouds against the blue sky, especially in the mountains. If I had to pick only one, it would definitely be a C-PL, since it's impossible to replicate its effect in post-processing.
