BaK4 roof prism
Compared to porro prism, roof prism binoculars offer a high optical performance with the advantage of a more simple and comfortable style in the body.
The roof-shaped double prisms system reflects the light and turns the image the right way up by letting the light in on a straight path directly from the object lenses to the eyepiece lenses.
It allows that compact and lightweight design required by those who enjoy spending long time at outdoor events or activities surrounded by nature.
Also, the quality of the glasses used in prisms may affect the sharpness of the images. For roof binoculars, Kenko makes use of BAK4 prism type, which is generally considered higher in quality compared to other types, as it gives a nice round exit pupil without producing distortion around its edge.
Multi-coated
To properly support the advantage of a BAK4 prism type, all the glass-to-air surfaces of the lenses in New SG binoculars are multi-coated with multiple layers of a protective film. This reduces light loss, allowing a higher range of light-waves to reach your eyes.
Focus ring
The center focus ring is perfectly integrated in the compact and comfort style of this series, a convenient feature for binoculars to be carried on outdoor trips, travels and events.
In a very easy way, you can rapidly adjust both the left and right eyepiece focuses at the same time by just rotating the focus ring in the center.
High water and shock resistance
Comfort means very little without effectiveness. That's why these binoculars have been provided with a waterproof design that prevents water to get inside the lens barrel even if accidentally dampened by rain or snow.
