The specific light transmitting properties of the the Kenko STARRY NIGHT PROSOFTON filter is realized by using colored glass material, thus this filter can be used with wide or super wide angle lens without color shift at the edge of the image. That makes Kenko STARRY NIGHT PROSOFTON filter useful for night sky landscapes, night city photography and time lapse shooting where the color shift correction can hardly be done in post processing.

No vignetting
The Kenko STARRY NIGHT PROSOFTON filter achieves light pollution cut effect and softening effect at once. It means that there is no need to invest in two separate filters. Secondly, the chance of vignetting caused by stacking two filters is minimized if you use one low profile Kenko STARRY NIGHT PROSOFTON filter. Finally, using 2 separate filters may increase the risk of the inner reflections and ghosts, compared to using only one filter.
